Robert Magrane Reily: Sources
List of Convicts: shows sent to Windsor on arrival
1828 Census/Muster: shows assignment to Peter McIntyre, Bollwarra, Patersons Plains
Will & Probate
In his will, Robert leaves £50 to each of his daughters. According to the Royal Australian Mint, this would be the equivalent of about $15,000 - $20,000 in today's money.
I calculated this because the Welcome Stranger nugget was worth just over £9500 in the 1850s. This would be $3million - $4million today. Multiplying £50 by 190, I get about $16,000. https://www.ramint.gov.au/eureka-australias-gold-rush
Robert also left £25 to each of his daughters' children and £5 to his godchild so it seems he was in quite a comfortable financial position when he died.
