County of Argyle
The area of New South Wales where my Seery and Withers convict ancestors ended up was known in the 1830s as the County of Argyle.
Argyle County was one of the original nineteen Counties in New South Wales and is now one of the 141 Cadastral divisions of New South Wales. It includes the area around Goulburn.
Some of the Argyle County parishes where my ancestors lived were Breadalbane, Collector, Goulburn, Gurrundah, Mutmutbilly, Pejar, Tarlo, Towrang, Upper Tarlo and perhaps Wayo (if it was also known as Wheeo).
